Joong-il procures the battery scraps, the main ingredient for the secondary smelting, domestically and from abroad and use them as the raw material.

Procedure for Importing Waste Batteries

Waste batteries are classified as regulated waste under the “Act on the Transboundary Movement and Disposal of Wastes.” They can only be imported after obtaining an import permit from the Regional or Local Environmental Office, in accordance with Article 10 of the Act.
Under the Basel Convention, the transboundary movement (import/export) of waste batteries is only allowed between countries that are parties to the Convention. The supplier must also obtain an export permit from the competent authority of the exporting country.
